Members of staff from BCRC and other groups attended a two-day training course for trainers based on the BCRC Intimidation Toolkit. Elements of training included modules on defining intimidation, the root causes of intimidation, the effects on individuals and communities, the power dynamic, support services and mechanisms and techniques for addressing the issue.
The Toolkit is designed to act as a resource for both victims and survivors of intimidation and for providers of support services.
Members of staff and other groups also attended a one-day training session on ‘Showing your True Colours. This training was an opportunity to discover how we can challenge prejudice and hate, increase understanding of the shared nature of symbols and emblems, raise awareness of other cultures, and celebrate identity without causing offence to others.
